RustConf 2024
RustConf 2024 was held in Montreal, at the historic St. James Theatre. The conference covered many topics of interest to the general Rust community, including:
- Toward safe transmutation in Rust: an attempt to permit safer transmutation between arbitrary types.
- The performance of the Rust compiler: Sparrow Li discusses recent work to improve the speed of the Rust compiler.
- A new approach to validating test suites: cargo-mutants is a tool to find gaps in test coverage.
- Safety in an unsafe world: Joshua Liebow-Feeser presents about generalized methods for stopping problems at compile time.
We were able to cover the event thanks to LWN's travel sponsor, the Linux Foundation.
