Why acyclic?

Why acyclic?

Parent article: Flowgraphs in GTK+

What is the reason to restrict the graph to be acyclic? This seems to be a severe and unnecessary limitation. Unable to model a feedback-loop?

It may be beneficial to possible restrict a certain graph to be acyclic but why prohibiting cycles everywhere?

Why acyclic?

Concur. For example with async search federation type flows, when needs to repeatedly try queries against the child search engines relaxing the query each time until enough liquidity is generated. It is annoying to have to "unroll" these loops.
