Sabrina White

A talented coach with an impressive resume of success, Sabrina White returns for her third season with the Cal State LA women’s basketball program. White helped the Golden Eagles enjoy great success during a monumental 2022-23 season.

White contributed to the Golden Eagles posting a 20-10 overall record and reaching the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2012. The Golden Eagles reached 20 wins for the first time since 2013 and were just one win shy of the program single-season record.

Cal State LA finished third in the California Collegiate Athletic Association for a second straight season and set a new program record for conference wins with a 16-6 record. The Golden Eagles advanced to the CCAA Tournament semifinals for a second straight season and earned a No. 5 seed to the NCAA West Regionals, where they fell to No. 4 Montana State Billings in a hard-fought game to end the season.

In her first two seasons at Cal State LA, White has helped the Golden Eagles to a 34-23 overall record and a 28-13 record in conference play.

White helped the Golden Eagles to an outstanding 2021-22 season in her first year with the program.

The Golden Eagles finished third in the CCAA, matching the best conference finish in program history. Cal State LA also won a game in the CCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014 after earning the No. 3 seed with a conference mark of 12-7.

White joined Cal State LA from Biola, where she helped the Eagles make the transition to NCAA Division II basketball. She helped Biola achieve the most wins in program history and a No. 1 defensive ranking. She was with Biola from 2019-21.

White also has extensive high school coaching experience. She was the head varsity girls basketball coach in the Garden Grove Unified School District from 2006-15 and rebuilt and led a championship-caliber program.

In addition to her collegiate and high school coaching experience, White also has some excellent training in sports business and professional basketball. In July of 2022, she was one of 96 participants (and one of eight women) in the world chosen to work hands-on with NBA scouting and video personnel at the Sports Business Classroom where she learned about the scouting process, the video room and analytics.

Representing the Indiana Pacers, her team won a mock draft competition in front of NBA general managers and executives.

She also attended an NBA Analytic Assistant Basketball Coaching Program to learn about elite adjustments that solve in-game problems. She also learned about video editing, the scouting reports that are used in the NBA, how to use analytics to improve practice planning, and player development through analytics.

White was also the ambassador for the Los Angeles Sparks in 2016 and received a championship ring when the Sparks won the WNBA championship.

She is also a professional skills trainer for WNBA Enterprises LLC, a youth development specialist for Team USA and an international basketball scout for TPG Sports Inc.

White earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in exercise science from Concordia University in Irvine and received her Master’s degree from Concordia in Coaching and Athletic Administration.
