Let zimfw take care of the theme for you. Add this to your ~/.zimrc:
before this line:
The reason I had to set a custom name for the module is that by default the name would be resolved to zsh-syntax-highlighting, which is the same name resolved for zsh-users/zsh-syntax-highlighting. |

The reason I had to set a custom name for the module is that by default the name would be resolved to zsh-syntax-highlighting, which is the same name resolved for zsh-users/zsh-syntax-highlighting.
