Unable to progress beyond the lab; using the Umbrella Computer causes the game to freeze.

Game version - USA 1.002
Saroo Version v0.7

also tried with settings below as suggested in another ticket but no luck:

play_delay = 100000
sector_delay = 5000

Playing as Chris.

I used this archive file to enter the game and did not find the archive in the game

I've played through the US version of Resident Evil using a Saroo (v0.6) several times and have had the same issue with the laboratory computer. I've found it freezes about 2/3 of the time, so I just save beforehand and restart if it freezes. I haven't found another solution. Otherwise the game plays well apart from a few minor graphical glitches.

I've read that the Slides, which are on the floor in the lab, can be an issue: the computer won't work if they're on the floor or in your inventory. The solution suggested is to pick up the slides and move them to a chest before using the computer. Maybe save and reload afterwards to make it stick. I haven't been able to figure out a rhyme or reason to it, but it does work for me sometimes, with or without moving the slides. I'm also playing as Jill, so that's another factor.

Try to use the latency value 6500-7000, different sd cards have different response times, I tested the latency value 6500 on my Samsung yellow 32G card, it worked fine, by the way, your save for this game is in SS_MEMS.BIN

Adding sector_delay = 6500 under global settings in the config seems to have worked for me. I was able to use the lab computer several times in a row across two saves files. Thanks very much for the advice!

It doesn't.
I have the same issue playing this game using US Saturn Model 1 and Japanese Saturn Model 2.

Resident Evil isn't a PAL optimized game either. So there shouldn't be any issues with running the game at 50Hz vs 60Hz other than the game overall running slower.

I'm not sure why it was closed.
Tried a lot of configurations values but none of them worked:

Play delay alone

play_delay=2000
play_delay=4000
play_delay=5000
play_delay=50000

Sector Delay+Play Delay together

sector_delay=5000
play_delay=50000

sector_delay=5000
play_delay=100000

sector_delay=50000
play_delay=5000

sector_delay=6000
play_delay=100000

No, I haven't had a chance to yet. I'd be curious to see if it makes a difference. The lab computer seems to work just fine now for Jill at least. I tried it about 10 times in a row. I'm using Saroo v0.6 with a model 2 Saturn and a SanDisk 128GB Ultra Micro SD card.

Hi, I was able to use the computer as Chris. It worked three times in a row with my set up. I unlocked both doors and went back to the courtyard save room and saved (save 12). Let me know if there's an issue with the link. Hope this helps!

Just tested this "empty" cfg file and here are the results:

Resident Evil (USA)
Chris and Jill - It works

Then I soft reset the system (ABC+Start) and select the japanese version:

Biohazard (Japan)
Chris - It works

So I decided to test my original cfg file adding the parameter sector_delay=6500 for each game.

Chris - It froze

Turning off the system and selecting the game from cold boot:

Biohazard (Japan)
Chris - It works

I wonder if this behavior is occurring randomly
