Piggybike uses the view_private and write scopes, as defined in the config.yml
Strava has planned changes to the API that will likely affect this:

In particular, my concern would be that the forever tokens are going to expire in October - I can't recall if I used these tokens.
You'd probably want to dig into the HWIOAuthBundle to understand what token is used.
