While the majority of the code in ngscopeclient and its dependencies is written by volunteer contributors including myself, I pay our artists and us 5498 er interface designer out of my own pocket. Funds received via GitHub will first be used to reimburse my direct costs from paying these contributors.
If sponsorships exceed the total amount I've paid to third party contributors, the overage will be used to cover hardware expenses related to open T&M (e.g. test fixtures used to capture waveforms for ngscopeclient protocol decode development, prototypes of open hardware scope probes, etc) and/or saved for future payments to contractors.
