Collection of ideas for assessing the diffusion schemes in MPTRAC:

check for dependencies of simulated diffusion on the time step of the model data or the meteo data
estimates of vertical diffusivities from aircraft measurements (Wagner et al., 2017)
look for diffusivity coefficients applied in Eulerian models? literature review?
compare diffusion of isentropic and kinematic trajectories
look at wind fluctuations from ESA Aeolus measurements: https://earth.esa.int/eogateway/missions/aeolus
