The auto-generated index pages aren't very useful. We should replace them with handwritten pages linking to relevant other sections of the docs.

From a customer:

Docs frustration: When I'm looking at the docs, I often times wonder, "what is ___?". For example, "what is a subscriber"? On the docs, I see the different methods, but it doesn't tell me anything about what a subscriber is. If you click on one (e.g. List Subscribers), it just says "List Subscribers". This doesn't do anything to help me understand what a subscriber is or does.
