What's the version of Readest? Did you try with the latest version or some old versions? Did you try rebooting your computer?

I've tried multiple versions and it's all the same, it should be a problem with the system, maybe it's the reason why I shut down a certain service, I don't know what the reason is

It requires the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime to run Readest. Probably you need to check if it's available in your system.

I also encountered this issue. When I double-clicked Readest, the Edge WebView2 Runtime disappeared. However, even after modifying the registry and reinstalling the Edge WebView2 Runtime, I still couldn't open Readest.

Yes, I've tried it, but it still doesn't work.
However, when I used Readest_0.9.10_x64-portable.exe, there were no issues.
I suspect that the problem might be with Edge WebView2.

是的,我试过了,但是还是不行。
但是我使用Readest_0.9.10_x64-portable.exe竟然没有问题。
我怀疑是Edge WebView2本身有问题。

我修复好了,只要下载个WebView2离线安装程序,用管理员身份运行一次,搞定。

Good. This is solved by reinstalling the Edge WebView2 Runtime as administrator. Closing this now.

The key point is to install with administrator privileges. This is a big pit. I tried installing with administrator privileges using PowerShell but it didn't work. The method of right-clicking and using administrator privileges was successful.
