It could help regarding the legibility of graphs to make the force layout algorithms influence the curvature of the curved edges in Sigma. It might be helpful to use control points instead of a one-dimensional curvature parameter here, which would require a rewrite of the edge program in Sigma.

As a workaround I guess you can scale the curvature based on the euclidean distance between both extremities. Might be fiddly to tweak though.
