zedmd works everywhere exept in popper (only black) ...
i find a trick for zedmd works : enabled both virtualdmd and zedmd and hide the virtual one out of screen.
did the job well but i think it's not normal...

you mean that if the VirtualDMD is activated, the ZeDMD works?

Even if you launch a VPX table from Pinup Popper, come back to the frontend, restart another table, go back to the frontend, etc... ZeDMD always works?

(zedmd works normally with dmdext 2.2.1)

Ah OK, I thought that ZeDMD was working without any issue if the VirtualDMD was active. I think that when the next dmdext with Serum 2 support will be out (should be done really soon), we will work on this issue.

Is this still an issue? Can anybody try with the latest AppVeyor build and close this if fixed?

@davy33 can you confirm that v2.3.0 fixes it?

@freezy i was able to test 2.3.0 (and update zedmd to 4.0.2)... i still have the same issue ... if virtualdmd is not enabled zedmd is black when i launch pinup( totally... without the dmd version text) . once i launch a table the dmd blink and show "ZEDMD" and back to black! BUT if i enabled virtualdmd everything works perfectly (both in pinup and vpx)

I'm so glad if found this thread! I have been stuck at 2.1 all this time because the popper dmd stopped working when updated. Didn't know keeping the virtual up was the fix! Such a big deal with the new serum colorizations. I just assumed it was a popper problem. To show dmd images, the popper dmd has to be up and I think the dmdext/zedmd then mirrors the popper display. This issue and fix persists with the current public releases.

Update to dmd-extensions 2.3.1 and ZeDMD v5.1.5.
Ensure to remove zedmd.dll and zedmd64.dll from your VPinMAME folder if they exist.
