I'd like to overhaul the project and implement some ideas:
move all UI inside Libgdx
"open world" update where vegetation expands slowly and there are no boundaries to the world. Slicing the world in a grid would allow looping over only a small subset of creatures increasing performance when creature count goes up
better UI so that it is possible to do more expecially manually editing and understanding the neural networks
better mind-body connections so that creature can evolve better, expecially vision
