im in US.
just got the Emporia GEN 3. can someone please share the yml code for solar?

so far, this is what i have from digiblur along with ethernet connection, i wont be using wifi at all. i am not sure where to put the yml code for solar or if i need to change any code below to accomodate solar.

How would this work if your solar is connected at the mains, mine is lined spliced I do not have breakers? I can see returned power, but the total energy use just shows 0 when I am exporting more than the current usage. I am not sure what I need to change in the YAML code to see the current energy use even when exporting more energy from solar then I am currently using.

Edit: I was able to figured out how to add the loads of the CT clamps to get a total. But since I am not monitoring all breakers I still have some unmonitored load, how would I be able to figured out the unmonitored load as well and add it to the total? I updated the below yaml code to the latest revision.

Are you monitoring your mains? If so then that is your total regardless. You may have to add back in the solar that is being canceled out

Edit: looks like you already have that defined as Grid Import. So you'd be doing something like (Grid Import + abs(Grid Export)) - Total Energy.

The reason for that is if your solar is providing power, then you'd want to account for that when the grid is zeroed out. Of course you'll have to play around with it based on the value that you get and your setup but that should get you on the right track. It would be helpful to get some actual values to understand what you're wanted to do better

Thanks, I have most loads monitored by the clamps, but there is still some randomly items around on different circuits that I am not monitoring.

With my current config I can monitor the entire load if I am importing energy from the grid, but once I am exporting energy then I can only calculate the total of the 16 circuits. The main 200A CTs are actually between the solar line tap and the meter, so they can read both directions.

What I'm trying to figured out is if its possible to monitor the entire load for the house even while I am exporting energy to the grid.

In the end, its not the end of the world as I do have my solar inverters imported into HA, which I already have connected to the energy dashboard. I was just setting up another HA dashboard strictly for consumption and wanted to see the total consumption of the home all the time, even when exporting energy.

Hmm yeah unless you're able to read how much solar is being generated then I don't think there's a way to calculate the total load. If you had the solar in, then you could subtract the solar generated from the grid export and then subtract the total usage to get the untracked usage.
