I use Obsidian with a more PARA based structure, so tasks get added to projects and my daily planning note pulls tasks from all areas that are due/scheduled/ongoing, which unfortunately doesn't work with the timer as the note containing the task itself must be open and focused, unless pinning. It would be convenient if there was a setting toggle

View due today [on/off]

or something similar to always show today's due tasks in the timer for tracking
