Need to be able to present a single REST interface to exomiser which can be used to power any front-end (web, cli, rich client). This should be scalable such that it can run on a single machine or be configured to run on multiple nodes. These nodes should probably be a single submission node with a configurable number of compute and data nodes. The copute nodes request variant and phenotype data from the data nodes which present a uniform interface for retrieving data from the disparate datasources contained in the data directory of the standalone application. This is an idealised setup. a lot of work will be required to investigate the feasibility of this especially into the performance of moving data to a remote machine. Doing so however means that people will be able to perform their own analyses using an online data server if they don't want to install the 50+GB of data locally. More serious and large-scale projects will want to run their own servers as will clincians inside of firewalls or those unable to let data outside of their work environments due to data protection requirements. http://swagger.io/
