In this task we will define a list of up to 5 possible optimizations to the current protocol that have potential to improve bandwidth.

  • The optimizations could be a new protocol or an improvement to the current one, or a combination.
  • They could be backwards compatible or not.
  • They should be easy to implement in at most a few days.
  • Ideas that may take more time to implement should be documented for evaluating them in the future as part of Investigate how to optimize transaction propagation #11.

See #1058 (comment) for a list of possible optimizations.

The output of this issue should feed #1087
