Description
Background
Rau (2024) outlined a generic workflow for processing radio astronomy data. This workflow needs to be refined to include additional ALMA-specific operations. The goal of the analysis will be to demonstrate that the RADPS conceptual architecture is consistent with ALMA's requirements.
Objective
Update the walking skeleton from Rau (2024) to include the following ALMA-specific operations:
- Wvrgcal - Include both the application of tables and what the possible parallelization axes for the current algorithm are.
- System temperature calibration
- spw_phaseup – this is something that has been revised recently in the pipeline, so will likely need updated information from PLWG. Luke has generated a new diagram for this and, I think, B2B calibration (see next point)
- B2B calibration –- Will need to contact PLWG to get updated documentation. I would start with Luke since he’s the person that’s been driving it.
- Flagging on cal table (e.g., the flagging views)
- Flagging on outliers in calibrated amplitude.
- Flux scaling
- Polarization calibration and imaging
This should include an update of the code as well as an analysis of the suitable parallelization axis.
Inputs
Deliverables
- An report detailing the analysis to be included in the RADPS program documentation
- Updated diagram building on the diagram in Rau (2024) and using the same conventions (as much as feasible)
- updated walking skeleton code
