Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Hey team!

React Native now fully supports the New Architecture and the frameworks are highly encouraging all companies to enable it in their apps. Expo v52 added official support for it with new projects enabling it by default and existing projects are expected to be forced to enable it later this year when Expo drops support for the old arch. Related Expo post.

This plugin is one of the only dependencies my app uses that does not yet support the new arch, is there a timeline to add support for it? Very soon Customer IO's customers will have to find alternatives if this isn't resolved because the plugin will become obsolete.

As a side note, please add this library to the official RN directory so people and tools will be up to date with the state of its support.

Thank you!

Thanks for reaching out!

This is being evaluated internally to prioritize this support, we currently don't have a specific timeline but we hope we are able to get to this soon.

We understand how important this is for SDK users and we will make sure to keep you posted with any updates.

Hey, any update on this?

With the upcoming release of Expo SDK 53 (currently in beta, should be out in the next week or 2), Expo will make the new architecture enabled by default for all projects, including existing ones. There's currently still a way to opt out of it and use the old architecture but I'm not sure how long that'll last so I hope this is high up on the priority list at this point.

Thanks!
