Description
Hello,
First of all, I mainly use MultiVNC to control my Steam Deck in desktop mode. For my use case, MultiVNC is the most reliable Flatpak application, since the Wi-Fi connection to the Deck is quite unstable – and for me, low latency is the top priority, image quality is secondary.
I have two issues with MultiVNC:
Note about GNOME 47 with display scaling: In windowed mode, the label text on the toolbar is so large that the buttons for “1:1” and “Fullscreen” are pushed out of view. It would be great if there were an option to hide the label text. Just a small suggestion.
Main issue – scrolling doesn’t work properly:
When I connect to the Deck, everything works perfectly except for scrolling. When I try to scroll, the view moves slightly in the intended direction, but then stops.
I’m using MultiVNC on a laptop, both systems are Fedora-based and running Wayland. And only with MultiVNC – compared to all other Flatpak VNC clients – scrolling with the trackpad doesn’t work at all.
That’s really unfortunate, because MultiVNC is a great application otherwise. But this issue makes it very difficult to use. Since I don’t have a real alternative, I have to deal with it for now. But to be honest, if I had another option, I wouldn’t use MultiVNC in this state, because the scrolling issue is that disruptive.
