Dear Overleaf developers:

I wonder where can I find the log file containing failed login attempts (wrong user, wrong password).
Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Mariusz

Hey @mariuszradon - unfortunately, the Community Edition doesn't have a user interface for viewing failed login attempts, like there is in Server Pro. These events, however, are still logged, but they can only be viewed by querying the MongoDB database directly. User events are stored in the userAuditLogEntries collection.

Note: Only failed logins for known accounts are recorded in the database. Logins for unknown accounts are only logged at debug level, and if enabled (not recommended) can be seen in sharelatex:/var/log/overleaf/web.log.

If you require access to the full admin panel interface and user/project audit logs as available in Overleaf Server Pro, please reach out to our sales team at https://www.overleaf.com/for/contact-sales.
