For default audio device it's almost 2 seconds

I wonder if this has anything to do with Conan. The issue isn't new, in the sense that Dale was running into this a while back. My assumption is that the output read is handled either by Qt and/or by our audio format plugin (Opus).

Do you know when you run into this? Does it only happen on Windows, or only on AppImages?

According to Lime, on his machine, which is affected by #1555, there are two output audio devices shown per output audio device. Apparently, both of them work, but one of them has ~2 seconds of latency.
So maybe there are two systems Qt can use to access audio devices, and on the AppImage it is using the wrong one because of which libraries we ship and which ones we don't ship?
