Form with Phone number mask and validation rule will not satisfy #246

I am using the following code and I am unable to get it to validate the phone number unless I change it to a text field and then type 123-123-1234. In the masking format 1 (123) 123 1234 it fails validation.

Field.phoneNumber("Phone",
      style: "compact",
      validate: FormValidator.phoneNumberUs(),
    )
