According to the @k-kinzal's report, variant seems to fail running your command when its named starts with a dot(.):

Error: ` filectl open` failed: .filectl failed running task filectl.open
AggregateInputsForParent(filectl.open) failed
AggregateInputsForParent(filectl) failed
missing input for task ``
.filectl has no task named
