HighFive needlessly assumes that every container has a default constructor. It happens here:

HighFive/include/highfive/bits/H5Slice_traits_misc.hpp

Lines 161 to 162 in 94ede4f

T array;
read(array, xfer_props);

and here (resize isn't safe to use):
