Hi everyone!

I`m facing a challenge during the installation of docker dekstop.

I`ve already shuted down WSL with wsl --shutdown, and rebooted my machine. I also reinstallied WSL and Docker Desktop but neither of those worked.

When you state that you followed the prompts, do you mean that trying to run wsl --list --online doesn't work? If so what error does that return?

Also, can you check out the following an see if your machine supports SLAT: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000034303/processors.html

@glemieux Thank you. The "wsl --list --online" code works, and then I proceed to install "wsl.exe --install Ubuntu-22.04" or "wsl.exe --install Ubuntu" but I had problems with both. It seems my machine supports SLAT. My computer is in Portuguese so I apologize if there is any error in translation. I'm pasting the code below. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the output! Looking at it, the issue definitely appears to be that virtualization needs to be enabled at the firmware level. The WSL troubleshooting notes:

Installation failed with error 0x80070003 or error 0x80370102

Please make sure that virtualization is enabled inside of your computer's BIOS. The instructions on how to do this will vary from computer to computer, and will most likely be under CPU related options.

Docker provides a link in their Windows virtualization troubleshooting to an article that explains in general how to enable virtualization. That said, it sounds like the method will be somewhat variable depending on the hardware and recommends checking with the manufacturer. Your output says you have a Lenovo machine, so I believe this support page with instructions may be your best bet.

Note, I'm assuming you'll need admin privileges to enable the virtualization. If your laptop is administered by a professional at your institution, it would probably be best to have them conduct this work.
