Expensive but extremely quick and efficient. It's cheaper than taking the cab and less stressful than taking the Piccadilly line. Xpress to LHR wins my vote

Buy your return tickets in advance from the vendors that stand at the bottom of the escalators into the luggage hall. So fast 20 min. and cheep 17£ return vs 70£ one-way I'll never take a taxi again.

Return ticket is £ 34 in couch class (which is very nice anyway - you won't use anything of the first class in so little time...). Trip lasts only 15 minutes to Terminal 1.

The Medi-centre at Paddington is brilliant. I arrived with 10 minutes to spare before my train to heathrow with no appointment and needing a typhoid shot. They sorted me out. Brilliant service!

Get a return with tube travel in zone 1 both ways it's £40 and convenient. No queuing at Paddington tube ticket office

It's a quick trip to LHR but you will have to navigate several stations to get to Paddington.
