German utility group E.ON operates primarily in energy distribution and supply, with 1.6 million kilometers of grid and 47 million customers across Europe. The larger supplier side of the business is concentrated on Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, along with 10 smaller markets, while the networks division mainly serves Germany. E.ON also provides EV charging points, heat pumps and smart meters for homes, as well as heating, cooling and on-site power supply for chemical firms, manufacturers, hospitals and real estate. The company is headquartered in Essen.
