NBA DFS picks September 18-19: What to do with Rondo?

We are now to the point in NBA DFS where we have two-day slates. With late swap it doesn’t make a lot of difference. The Eastern Conference Finals will be played on one day. The Western Conference Finals on the other.

The surprising Heat and Nuggets have crashed the party. The Bucks and Clippers are nowhere to be found, ousted by these upstarts. Can they go a step further and send Boston or L.A. back home? Let’s find out! First, we need to assess the injury situation. It’s still a thing.

Out: Gordon Hayward (ankle), Will Barton (knee), Chris Silva (pelvis), Dion Waiters (groin)

Questionable: Rajon Rondo (back)

Gordon Hayward was very close to a return last night and my guess is that he will play on Saturday with the Celtics down 0-2. Even then, don’t expect Hayward to play a lot of minutes. All he’s going to do is siphon value off of Marcus Smart.

I’ve played sparingly over the last couple of slates due to a nasty (non-COVID) cold. I did take a crack at the full series slate that DraftKings put out there for the Eastern and Western Conference Finals. I must say that was a great idea. I’m liking it so far!
