AMD Phenom II vs FXFollow

I have an Asus M5A97 MB and am running a Phenom 1100 X6 cpu. I have been wondering which is better for gaming the Phenom or the FX series CPUs. I currently have 8gb mem and a Raedon 7790 gpu

Running Win 7 home premium, Intel 160GB SSD for OS and WD 500 GB for main storage,
Just looking for possible tweaks to get a little more out of my system

I have experimented with Win 10 preview. Much better than 8/8.1 but its a wait and see to see if there is any reason to give up 7
