sklep
Albanian
editAlternative forms
editEtymology
editVariant of gëlep.
Noun
editsklep m (definite sklepi)
- rheum (in the eyes)
Czech
editEtymology
editInherited from Old Czech sklep, from Proto-Slavic *sъklepъ. Cognate with Polish sklep.
Pronunciation
editNoun
editsklep m inan
- cellar (storage space)
Usage notes
edit- Unlike a cellar, a sklep can also be on the ground floor. This is usually the case in blocks of flats of the panelák sort. In such cases these storage closets are grouped together, rather than adjacent to their respective flats (which are mostly on higher floors).
