Talk:depth

Latest comment: 17 years ago by Connel MacKenzie in topic RFC discussion: December 2006

isn't depth location along the z-axis while height is sited on the y-axis? If so, how can they be antonyms? E.abu Filumena

10 feet high is not the "opposite" of 10 feet deep? Ewlyahoocom 16:25, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I think he's thinking of the depth of a closet for example, whereas you are more thinking of the depth of a lake. Also which axis is the z-axis is a matter of convention and many different conventions are used. The computer graphics convention may be that the z-axis points in the viewing direction, but the topographical convention is that the z-axis points up.

From wikipedia:Depth:

  • In sports, depth is a measure of the ability of a team or an individual to continue high performance under adverse circumstances.

Statistical example table

edit

I think the statistical example table is bad and slightly misleading.

It would be better to get an actual table and point out the depth there.
