Reminder to participate in Wikipedia research

edit

Hello,

I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement.

Take the survey here.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:16, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question about a block

edit

Hi! I happened to come across User:Kintetsubuffalo, who you blocked in April 2023 with the note "Hell no." and the talk page message "You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for WP:NONAZIS ask me about it." I was curious what specifically prompted the block, since the block note and talk page message aren't very specific, and from what I can see there weren't any edits made by that user around the time you blocked them (unless they've been deleted, of course). All good if you can't remember/can't answer, it was quite a while ago and this is just out of curiosity anyway :] Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 01:18, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Google should help you here. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 08:28, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I mean, I've looked at WP:NONAZIS and can infer that the block was something to do with Nazis, but this still doesn't answer my question, nor do I know what I'm supposed to be googling. The part I'm most curious about is why they were blocked in April 2023 specifically when there's no edits from them around that time. (Plus, the talk page note literally says "ask me about it"... were you not expecting anyone to actually ask or something?) Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 08:49, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have been asked about it a lot. To be honest, you probably don't want to know. It's deeply unpleasant. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 10:36, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
