Merge Proposal
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- Not merged due to no consensus. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 07:37, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
I suggest it would be best to merge Nostalrius with this page. I assert the other page topic's notability does not meet Wikipedia's Notability Guidelines. I will suggest to merge Nostalrius into the section "Community and study of player interaction," but please provide your opinion if you believe it should find its new home in a different section of the page. RandomPageCrusader (talk) 03:42, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose It does seem like Nostalrius is standalone notable. There is a full article here, another here on the closure of Nostalrius and one here about its reopening, amongst others. It's possible Blizzard's shutdown of the server made it notable, but notable is notable. It has enough sources that a merge would not be necessary, nor does it overlap since it was a fanmade creation. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:19, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Support In this case, it's less notability and more undue weight. Nostalrius can definitely fit as a section in this article, and as such a split from the main article is not necessary. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 02:28, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose (I am not a WoW player). It seems standalone notable to me (and that is the justification given for the proposal above) for much the same reasons listed above. In response to the undue weight, this is a thing in the real world - to me, it far more merits its own page than many of the purely in-game things that get them. It's likely that someone will use Wikipedia to get information on Nostalrius alone and their needs will best be met with a page of its own. Pinkbeast (talk) 17:40, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

In the section on security risks the phrase “back account” is likely to be “bank account” 2600:1009:B10B:3AD6:B0B3:7077:7A4F:1416 (talk) 06:38, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Not done: I believe it means "relay back account information" as in "return account information" to the malware operators. The source describes it as "malware designed to steal user names and passwords". Ligaturama (talk) 11:37, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
Credits attribution incorrect
editMark Kern was not a director on World of Warcraft. He was a Team Lead, which is a very different position. Request to have information updated: see original credits for reference. https://www.mobygames.com/game/15620/world-of-warcraft/credits/windows/ 2600:8802:700:6A80:2A0E:85F:764F:B58C (talk) 18:57, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

The first paragraph in the Expansions sections does not mention The War Within.
Nine expansions have been released: The Burning Crusade, released in January 2007; Wrath of the Lich King, released in November 2008; Cataclysm, released in December 2010; Mists of Pandaria, released in September 2012; Warlords of Draenor, released in November 2014; Legion, released in August 2016; Battle for Azeroth, released in August 2018; Shadowlands, released in November 2020; Dragonflight, released in November 2022; and The War Within, released in August 2024. Players are not required to purchase expansions in order to continue playing; however, new content and features such as higher level caps and new areas may not be available until they do so.NullNobody (talk) 11:45, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 22:25, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
Include the 20th year anniversary server refresh
editI am wondering if it would be worth / supported if a section were written to include the 20th year anniversary server refresh? Artem...Talk 02:42, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
