editI believe the second type of tessera were also struck from lead as a type of minor coinage. Does anyone have any further information on this?
"by 200 BCE purpose-made tesserae were being used" Was it not more common to recycle broken pieces of glass and pottery? Is there any evidence of mosaic pieces being produced on purpose in factories? --Guiriviejo 18:04, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
The Farsi (Persian) is misspelled. In Farsi, a final ye does not have two dots under it, even if the word is of Arabic origin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.63.151.22 (talk) 02:58, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
