Talk:.il
.ישראל
editAccording to ISOC-IL, .ישראל is not the final choice, the document passed to ICANN in 2008 was a response to an RFI, not an official request. ccTLD Israel YehudaDe (talk) 21:44, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
il
editCurious where letters .il came from. Not obvious like .us and .uk — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robinrobin (talk • contribs) 18:14, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
ISO 3166 is a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It defines codes for the names of countries, dependent territories, special areas of geographical interest, and their principal subdivisions (e.g., provinces or states). Iceland took IS for some reason instead of IC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robinrobin (talk • contribs) 18:43, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Mistake about Second level domains
edit"Domain names ending with .il will always be in the third level" This is factually technically incorrect. "gov.il" is a registered domain name that leads to a real website (of the Israel government services) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.250.238.231 (talk) 23:29, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
