Pembina

[edit]

Please see my reply to your comments at Talk:Pembina, North Dakota. --MatthewUND(talk) 22:49, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BTW, some users consider removing comments (as you did here: [1]) left by others on your talk page to be a bad practice. This is especially true when the comments you remove are past warnings. --MatthewUND(talk) 08:44, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Elcajon:

I came across this article while created redirects for a piece I just started on the Red River Trails. I have posted questions and a suggestion at its talk page.

On another matter, I hope some day to play the LaMoure course-- 2446 yards from the back tees would be nice. Regards, Kablammo 20:37, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Erskine Fish 2007.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Erskine Fish.JPG. The copy called Image:Erskine Fish.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. Hiya - I have tried to add sources as requested. Could you please take a look and see if there are other areas that need improvement? Best, Vizjim 15:31, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Treaty maps

[edit]

ElC: I saw the map you added to the Old Crossing Treaty article. Are those maps available on line? I would like to get a map which shows the land ceded under the Treaty of Traverse des Sioux. If you know of one please let me know. (I'll watch this page.) Thanks. Kablammo (talk) 20:07, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the link to the United States Library of Congress website containing the Royce map collection. I don't know whether they have the map you are searching for, but they have other map collections on-line and you might try searching their site. Elcajonfarms (talk) 15:38, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is what I was looking for. Thank you.
I found a drawing of Pembina about 1800. Would that interest you? Kablammo (talk) 15:58, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it would

It's about half way down this page; showing the two fur posts/forts on opposite banks of the Pembina River c. 190 years ago. Kablammo (talk) 14:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dakota War of 1862

[edit]

Could you explain your position more thoroughly on the quote you have excised?

You said in the edit summary "This statement is out of context, reflect POV and bias and doesn't fit here".

Well, of course it reflects POV and bias. Its intention is to accurately reflect one of the POV's of the article. It isn't my opinion, or original research, it is a direct quote from a historian who is an expert on the topic.

Of course, this is the summary for the article. I can see a case made for it being put later in the article. It fits into the paragraph I added because we need to be fair and have balance. Recently a sentence was introduced "There's never been an official report on the number of settlers killed, but estimates range from 300 to 800. Historian Don Heinrich Tolzmann says until the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, it was the highest civilian wartime." The previous sentence helps in the paragraph that it is in to understand that at that time many people (pioneers/ farmers) feared the Indians and wanted them exterminated or removed from their lands, the lands desired by the farmers.

That paragraph in the intro sets up the conflict and situation of the trary violations and the Indian agents (Myrick) disrespect and abuse of the indians. It is the perfect place for the perspective given by Wilson in the article.

Drawbar

[edit]

I appreciate your desire to expand the article set, but Drawbar (haulage) covers those extra topics. The other articles you created redlinks for may well come in the futre, but I suggest an expansion of the haulage article, possibly a renaming to a more general title if you prefer. Louise Erdrich

[edit]

Hello. Your reversion, without any discussion, of the Prof. Gates material in the Louise Erdrich article I put in was uncalled for. He's a known scholar at Harvard and Ms. Erdrich was very involved in the "Faces of America" show. It footnoted the statements in the article for veracity. I must think what to do about your action in lieu of any comments from you other than the edit summary. --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 17:15, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments. As you said, it's beyond you, and I can't enlighten you, so we'll leave it as it is. Best wishes. --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 17:31, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Roy P. Johnson (journalist) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability. He was a reporter, and some of his papers have been preserved, and that is essentially the sum of the verifiable information about him.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi, I see you don't edit much, but you might spot this next time you're around. I don't know whether you noticed but the article Geier on which you've done a lot of work (do I detect a family surname perhaps?) was hacked down to form a standard disambiguation page in Nov 2010, losing a lot of content. I've created stub articles for the Indians and three ships, and have rescued most of the content to form Geier (surname). You might like to keep an eye on it, or develop it further. I just don't like to see useful content lost altogether. PamD (talk) 10:14, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
