About Me

[edit]

Here are my userboxes.

Apparently a couple of years ago there has been some discussion about my user name. (In some obscure admin voting forum somewhere.)

Yes, this is my real name. No, I'm not the former Nobel Prize winning president of Costa Rica. I'm not that guy.

I'm a systems analyst/youtube partner/blogger/soon to be author and world traveler (among other things).

My "virtual" business card: http://www.oscararias.info/

As you see, I don't get to editing much these days, probably won't again as it seems to be a massive time sink for me.

Also know this: I would rather be in Bangkok right now.

Contributions

[edit]

I have been a wikipedia editor for a number of years.
Below are some of my many contributions to Wikipedia so far:

Articles added:

Added entry for Dokken.
Added entry for James Traficant
Added entry for Sex tourism.
Added entry for Pantip Plaza Added entry for Bernard Trink Added entry for Patpong
Added entry for Farang
Added entry for Ox-Cart Library
Added entry for Uptech Computer.
...and added a very special page for felching.  :)

Some major revisions:

Vastly expanded John McCain and Helen Hunt pages. (both were article stubs at the time!)
Added history to my old hometown of North Olmsted, Ohio .
Expanded Bangkok article.
Imported and copyedit Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin article from 1911 EB.

Unfortunately not everything I do on Wikipedia is appreciated!
My article on the Interenet Meme Jeff Goldblum is watching you poop did not meet notability guidelines! <grin>
It's in my userspace if you want to look at it... (link forthcoming)

I also copyedit and revert vandalism when I see it.
