Description
English: A rifle detail of Marines from Inspector-Instructor staff San Jose, Calif., fire a 21-gun salute in honor of the first Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Wilbur Bestwick, at Skylawn Memorial Park Nov. 11, 2008. Bestwick's burial site was incorrect on his biography, and staff members at the I&I were able to locate his correct gravesite by obtaining his death certificate. They found the site just before the Corps' birthday last year and were able to render honors to Bestwick for the first time.
