[edit]From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (farpīh, frapīh), from Old Persian *frapīδwa-, a combination of Proto-Iranian *fra- and *piHtú (“fat, tallow”) from Proto-Indo-Iranian *piHtú.
