- Russian гада́ть (gadátʹ, “to divine, to tell fortunes”) (from Proto-Slavic *gadati (“to guess”)).
- Ancient Greek γηθέω (gēthéō, “to be glad”) (per Blažek). For further explanation, see žõdis.
