-hVn
Appearance
Finnish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Finnic *-hën, a variant of *-sën, probably related to *-lën (allative case suffix) and composed of -s- (internal locative suffix; see -ssa) + Proto-Uralic *-ŋ (lative or dative suffix) (with an epenthetic *-e-). The preceding vowel began to assimilate the vowel in the suffix.

- Forms the illative singular case.
