[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish صمیمیت (ṣamimiyyet),[1][2] from Arabic صَمِيمِيَّة (ṣamīmiyya, “cordiality, intimacy”), from صَمِيم (ṣamīm, “essence, core”) + ـِيَّة (-iyya, nisba suffix).
