- A kind of grass, Bothriochloa saccharoides), having spikelets arranged in long silky plumes. It grows in swamps in the Southern United States.
- A kind of grass, Tripidium ravennae, from the Mediterranean region.
- Any other grasses from the genus Erianthus, now in genera Saccharum and Lasiorhachis.
