organza
Appearance
English
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Attested since about 1820, of uncertain origin. Suggestions include: alteration of Lorganza (supposedly a trade name at the time for such a fabric) and/or ultimate derivation from Urgench or Old Urgench (supposedly associated with fabric production).
