Utilization of Oil Shale Retorting Technology and Underground Overview

Published: 19 February 2011 Publication History

Abstract

The paper analyzes the world's oil shale development and status of underground dry distillation technology and, through case studies proved the advantages of underground dry distillation technology. Global oil shale resource-rich, many countries in the development of oil shale technologies to deal with oil shortages. Although at this stage the ground oil shale distillation technology has become more mature, but because of high investment, high cost and limited scope, and serious shortcomings of ecological destruction, many companies and research institutions are active underground oil shale retorting technology. A typical underground dry distillation technology at this stage include: Shell ICP technology, Exxon Electro frac TM technology, the United States shale oil company's technology, Pyrophase underground radio distillation technology, China University of Mining and Technology Underground pyrolysis gasification, etc. Hainan Changpo mining case study that made use of CUMT underground retorting of oil shale development program can improve the effectiveness of mine120%.
