Abstract
In the paper three new mechanisms for maintaining population diversity in (μ,λ)-evolution strategies are introduced: deterministic modification of standard deviations, crowding, and elitism. The proposed mechanisms are experimentally verified with the use of optimal shape designing of rotating variable-thickness annular elastic discs problem.
