Abstract (en)

While pressing the stack of sheets together, a press apparatus exerts a linear pressure either directly onto the stack or externally onto the cover. By moving a plate (6) in the direction of the end side of the stack, the spine of the cover is pressed onto this end side. An independent claim is included for a binding apparatus.
