Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0918085A1] Use of 8-22 Carboxylic acid amide ether sulfates of formula (I) as components in manual dishwashing agents. (I) have the formula R<1>-CO-NH(CH2CH2O)n-SO3<->M<+> (I) R<1> = 8-22 C saturated or unsaturated alkyl group; n = 1-10; M<+> = alkali(ne earth) metal or quaternary ammonium ion. The detergent combination used in the manual dishwashing composition in the in vitro Q-test has a swelling value of less than 25%, more preferably less than 10% and particularly less than 0 % (U. Zeidler, G. Reese, Arztliche Kosmetologie, 1983, 13, 39-45; Swelling behaviour of isolated pig epidermis in the presence of detergent solutions; relative change in swelling Q relative to water given by Q = ((t/w)-1) x 100%, in which t and w are the water weights of the treated skin in multiples of the dry wt., where t = the sample treated with detergent solution and w = the sample treated with water and t and w are given by t, w = (weight of swollen epidermis - weight of dry epidermis)/(weight of dry epidermis)). Independent claims are included covering: (a) detergent compositions which are kind to the skin, comprising: (A) a carboxylic acid amide ether sulfate (I), (B) a betaine compound (II), (C) alkylpolyglycosides (III) and (D) either containing no further anionic detergent components or, as sole additional anionic detergent, fatty alcohol ether sulfates (IV); and (b) manual dishwashing agents which are kind to the skin and which contain the said detergent combinations.
