[origin: WO9709782A1] The invention concerns an adaptive filtering process for time input signals (X(n)) in the frequency domain. Filtering is carried out on blocks (xm(k)) of m successive signals ((x(n)), ... x (n+m-1))), by multiplying the Fourier transform (X2m(k)) of the input signal blocks by blocks (W2m(k)) of weighting coefficients in the frequency domain, the coefficient blocks being calculated recursively from preceding coefficient blocks and from first and second corrective terms (C2m<1>(k), C2m<2>(k)) obtained from output signals (ym(k)) corresponding to the filtered input signals and from the Fourier transform of a model of the input (bp+1).
